Why do our children start the school day with an assembly every morning? What is it? What is it for? These are questions that many parents have asked ourselves.

Teachers heavily influence this methodology in the early years of early childhood education, and even extend it to primary school, and they have plenty of reasons. In the last 15 years education, although it has not evolved as much as it should, it has undergone several changes in its methodologies with the little ones.

Talking in the classroom with children is not easy, as they get run over by talking and do not respect turns, that is why communication between students and the teacher is so important. School is intended to be something fun and less rigid than a decade ago, instilling values ​​through a collective agreement, as equals, in which students contribute as much or more than the teacher to the class.

It is usually done early or late in the day, or at special times, and starts with all the children sitting in a circle on a rug or a place away from the normal structure of the class, where the teacher is usually only a moderator-guide, and where the undisputed protagonist is the child.

1- In the linguistic field: Language development, the way of expressing their needs and feelings is enhanced. You learn to respect your turn to speak, vocabulary is acquired and there is greater interactivity between the child and his classmates, as well as with the teacher.

An attempt is made to break shyness by speaking to others, by expressing himself and communicating with those who are not like him, and therefore to reinforce his self-esteem, since he is given the possibility of narrating the experiences of the previous day or of the holidays and that others can intervene in your conversation.

2- In the social sphere: It helps us to work on the rules of the class and their whys, empathy is fostered among children, it helps them to relate to each other and it tries to increase camaraderie, friendship, solidarity and respect for classmates. Group work is also worked on.

It also helps the teacher to know the previous knowledge of the students and develop the temporal structure of the class, since it anticipates what is going to be done throughout the day.

3- In the field of learning: The child's thinking is developed, he is given freedom to imagine or create through stories, songs and the teaching units that are being worked on. The basic concepts are acquired such as numbers, colors, letters ... since every day there is a person in charge who will count the missing students or the day of the week that it is, will be in charge of watering the plants or enforcing the rules.
